Hello, again.

Well, it's been a minute.  I hope to be back in action a little more frequently on here now. Work is fantastic, Jake is thriving and life is just generally good. I want to get back in the habit of posting the memories as they happen. I really enjoy looking back on the pictures that capture the snapshots of our life. Some days I wake up and wonder just how life can move so quickly. I want to slow down and enjoy the ride.

Last week we took a week long family vacation to Cape Cod. My parents rented a beautiful house in Dennis a block from Harborview Beach. The views were outstanding. My family has been vacationing in Dennis since my younger brother and I were babies. This was the first time in 5 years that we were able to join them for an entire week. All of our cousins made it down for at least a few days. It was simply the best vacation we've had in years. And 9 days with my Jake for the first time since my maternity leave...bliss.

"aaaaah"

I am taking a break from this crazy week to remember this amazing moment. The moment I realized that Jake tries to say "I love you" after I say it to him. His version comes out as "aaaaah" but I know what he is saying. He looks in my eyes and I know he understands that those words I say to him a hundred times a day are so important.

Happiness is tucking him in at night and leaving the room with my final wish of the day, "good night sweet boy, I love you." Before the door closed tonight, I heard a soft "aaaah."

Time Flies.

Wow, it's been since Thanksgiving. Time really flies. Here are a few snap shots of Jake the last few months.

So much has happened in the last three months. Jake is walking now! He actually took his first steps a few days before he turned 9 months. He is completely mobile at this point and running all over the house. He has a few words now, too. Dada is definitely his favorite word. In fact, both Michael and I are often called dada. Mama is harder to come by. He says "boo" for book and "baa" for ball. He also says "sssssh" for shoe and "sssss" for snow. It's amazing to watch him learn something new every day.

We've had an unbelievable amount of snow this February and we are itching to bring him to the park to run outside. Really looking forward to the Spring and Summer in our little beach town.
